This was in relation to an ongoing wrangle with insurance about potential subsidence, and I was at the end of my tether.

His subsequent report provided the reassurance that I needed, in that there were no signs of subsidence found and that my house was structurally sound. Thank you! Ian attended our house to inspect a a wall and confirm if it was load-bearing or not (it was!) and advise on the removal of a chimney breast. He answered all questions I had, inspected everything twice and gave suggestions on the possible solutions. We then received the steel beam calculation the next day.

Structural house survey. James, from Barratt Associates, surveyed our house today because we were concerned by all the cracks that have appeared over the past year. We were given excellent advice on the causes of the cracks, were reassured that there is not a subsidence issue, and given a list of recommendations to correct the defects. Can’t ask for better than that. In addition, from my initial telephone enquiry, James carried out a survey within 24hrs…brilliant.

I wanted a building inspection following a survey on a house and a lack of information from the sellers. I initially tried another company who were slow to respond which caused delays in getting a suitable appointment. Frustrated and eager to get the inspection done Barratt Associates got it booked in and the report back to me within 1 week. I am extremely grateful for their work to get this done quickly as I had expressed this was the final requirement before I agreed an exchange date. Would highly recommend.

Quick and Efficient Contacted Barratt Associates Llanarth after being let down badly by a Company in Carmarthen who sat on job for weeks! Barratt Associates did a site visit, calculations and spoke to our builder with his recommendations all within a week. Steel frame they recommended was in and fitted perfectly within two weeks.

I needed a structural engineer following a home survey report on a house we are intending to purchase. Hoping not to prolong our chain too much I came across Barratt Associates whom I contacted for a quote. They were very professional and prompt in doing this which gave me the confidence to go with them. From the outset our Structural Engineer James was on the ball and was out to assess the property within days. James addressed all my concerns straight away over the phone followed up by a comprehensive report.I would throughly recommend them, great service provided.

We were desperate for a structural engineers report for our property after Nationwide refused to mortgage the property without it. We are based in Bristol and local structural engineers had wait lists of over 8 weeks so after seeing so many great reviews of Barratt Associates we sent a messaging hoping they would consider coming to Bristol to carry out the report and luckily they covered the area. James who completed our survey was really friendly, insightful and was able to fit us in less than a week from when we called. Friendly and helpful team, had a retaining wall inspected, were swift responding to emails and quick to come out. Inspection was explained to me in detail and maintenance tips, monitoring and concerns to watch for were detailed. Highly recommend.

Independent and expert We were worried about cracks along the ceiling/wall joint and whether we’d need to replace the roof. Ian visited and gave top notch expert advice including how best to deal with the problem. I believe that if we’d gone straight to a roofer it would have cost us dearly but we were reassured despite it looking back the rectification work did not need to be severe. If you have concerns about the structure of your property get these guys out for an independent expert opinion before you start any work for peace of mind.
